Practice brand color memory without waiting

Endless Mode keeps the same five-round format as the Daily Challenge but starts a fresh set every time you play. There is no once-per-day limit, no countdown to midnight, and no signup. Endless scores are stored separately from Daily results, so practicing here never disturbs a streak you are trying to protect.

Each round focuses on color recall rather than logo recognition. You see a brand name and a short written hint, set hue, saturation, and lightness with three sliders, and submit. Your shade is then placed directly beside the stored target, with a score based on how far apart the two colors actually look rather than how close their hex values happen to be.

Why endless practice works better than one puzzle a day

A single daily puzzle tells you your score. It does not tell you your bias. Five rounds is too small a sample to reveal a pattern, and a day between attempts is long enough to forget what you did last time.

Playing several sets back to back changes that. Two consistent biases show up in aggregated gameplay data, and both become visible within about twenty rounds. Guesses skew too saturated, because memory reaches for the prototype version of a color rather than the real one, and they skew too light, because brand colors are usually seen against white and the surrounding white pulls the remembered value upward.

Once you can see your own bias, correcting it is a single deliberate adjustment: make your best guess, then pull saturation and lightness down before you submit. Most players gain more from that one habit than from any amount of additional play.

What Endless Mode draws from

The full brand pool is 259 colors across nine categories, and Endless pulls from all of them rather than from a single theme. A five-round set can move from a fast-food red at 90 percent saturation to a near-black AI mark within the same game, which is deliberate: switching between color families is harder than staying inside one, and it is where the useful practice happens.

If you would rather drill one family at a time, the category quizzes are narrower by design. Technology brands concentrate in blue and cyan, food brands in red, green, and orange, and AI brands in the neutral band. Each category keeps its own best score in your browser, so comparing them tells you which color families you personally handle worst.

How scoring works here

Your guess and the target are both converted into CIE Lab, a color space built so that equal numeric distances correspond roughly to equal perceived differences, and the gap between them is measured as a Delta E distance. That distance is mapped onto a 0 to 100 score per round, up to 500 for a full set.

The mapping is deliberately not linear. An early version of this game subtracted Delta E directly from 100, and in practice that rated ordinary human performance as total failure: the average player finished a set with five blank squares. The current curve is forgiving at the low end and still steep at the top, so a near-perfect match remains genuinely hard while an honest attempt is recognized as one.

Nothing to sign up for

There is no account, no password, and no profile. Best scores, recent results, streaks, and achievements live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device unless you choose to post a score to the public leaderboard. Clearing site data for this domain erases all of it, which is also the fastest way to start from zero on purpose.
